BOOK PRODUCTION SERVICES

Dancing Moon Press offers book production services.
Each job is tailored to meet the needs and the budget of the author.
Clients can choose any or all of the following:

  • Ghostwriting
  • Book Doctor (help with book concept organization, structure, styles, plot, character development, continuity (etc.)
  • Writing Coach (personal attention as you write your book. Email or postal mail correspondence, as needed)
  • Book critiquing (includes a written evaluation of your book with constructive advice)
  • Proofreading (for grammatical and punctuation errors, and spelling typos)
  • Substantive editing (for clarity, organization, consistency and sentence structure)
  • Page layout, formatting and pre-print production
  • Creation of book indexes
  • Book Cover design & camera-ready production
  • ISBN (International Standard Book Numbers) assignment
  • Library of Congress registration number
  • Bar codes
  • Photo and line art scanning
  • Author photos
  • Procurement of competitive print bids
  • Supervision of printing, binding and delivery
  • Postcards of the book cover for promotional use

Written estimates are based on individual projects.
Dancing Moon Press does no book marketing at this time, however we can recommend others who do this work.

To obtain a FREE PRELIMINARY QUOTE we need the following information:

  1. What is the title of your book or project?
  2. What is the current format of the book? (handwritten, typewritten, on computer disk, ready to email, etc.)
  3. What is the name of the software program used? Specify if it is PC or Macintosh.
  4. What are the approximate number of pages in the book?
  5. Is your manuscript single or double-spaced?
  6. Does your book include footnotes or endnotes?
  7. Does your book include photographs? How many? Are they already embedded in your file?
  8. Will an index or table of contents need to be created?

    9. Please include:

  • A list of the services you would like Dancing Moon Press to perform (see options above)
  • The target date for when the project will be ready to send to us
  • The size of the finished book (8.5 x 5.5 is standard for trade paperbacks)
  • Special paper requests (standard book paper is 60# offset)
  • Special binding (standard binding is 'perfect bound')
  • Special lamination (standard is gloss ultrakote to protect cover from scuffing)
  • The number of copies you want printed
  • Your contact information including name, email and postal addresses, and phone number.

The written contract for a book project will detail specific charges and require a 50-percent down-payment before work begins.
The balance will be due prior to your project being shipped to printer.

Authors retain all copyrights and 100 percent of sales dollars.

OTHER SERVICES

Besides ghostwriting, we can provide copywriting services for most other needs.
Portfolio samples available on request.

  • TRANSCRIPTION FROM AUDIO CASSETTE TAPE

Taped interviews or notes recorded on standard (not mini) audio cassettes can be transcribed and typed into computer files.
The cost of this service is based on a per-hour rate.
The higher the quality of the audiotape recording, the faster the job can be completed.
